Lately, I feel like a character in a Gibson novel - living outside the mainstream, doing much with technology, and dating online again.

I spend so much time on my computers - at work, performing, at home - I wonder if part of me is slowly becoming code. My websites are massive, intricate labyrinths full of the same kind of crevices and crannies one might find in the tangental nature of the human brain. I wonder if I can disconnect - if its possible. Am I so emmeshed in my computer activity, that disconnection would be a health risk? A career risk? A social risk?

Mr. Pinned, (named for the way he so perfectly pins me down), is the last person I bothered to interact with from an online dating service. He was witty online and his pictures were cute. We chatted on the phone, and his voice was like liquid metal in my ear, pouring down through my body, heating and expanding every part of me.

We ended up meeting late one night before I left for vacation and before he moved to the West Coast. It was perfect combustion - explosively sexy, physical in the entire sense of the word, and extremely satisfying. He knew how to pin me, hold me, make me beg and cry out. He was strong and in control the entire time. He felt as if he was violating a 16 year old girl, (nod to my fabulous genes), and I reveled in every moment of it.

Cereal Dating

There are so many flakes and just too many nuts.

The dates are dried up and tasteless.

There’s too much sugarcoating and fortification.

The entire affair gets soggy too fast.

And I’m looking for the prize in the box.

Even that tends to cheap and plastic.

I’ve switched to making my own shakes.

Its become almost automatic.
